You are not enough.
If you were enough on your own, Christ would not have had to die for you.
You could never be good enough, smart enough, strong enough, or talented enough to earn your own salvation.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9
You are not enough.
But Christ is.
He lived the life we could never live. He carried the burden none of us could carry. And He conquered sin and the grave so we would no longer be slaves under them.
All of this is a free gift. We are not intitled to it. We could not earn it. And we definitely do not deserve it.
We are not enough on our own. But we have access to our God who is.
The Holy Spirit is in us, equipping, guiding, and helping us. We do not have to do this on our own. Rather, when we do not have the strength, He is our supply. When we do not have the patience, He helps us offer grace from His abundance of grace. When we do not have enough love for a difficult person, He gives us love out of the love He already has for them.
When we lack anything, we can come before God who has everything.
When we recognize that we are not enough, we recognize our endless need for Him. When we understand the greatness that the gift of salvation is, we become abundantly thankful to Him.
The world wants you to look within yourself for answers, truth, “goodness”, life, and happiness. But in reality, all things come from God. We can never find them in ourselves.
We do not need to be enough, when we put our hope and faith in the LORD who is.
If we were enough and could to things on our own, we would not need the Holy Spirit and the strength He provides. Good reflection Anna.
So true❤
